WEEK 13

Dear Our Time Parent:

Have you noticed your child initiating finger plays and pretend play at home? Occasionally your child’s play will relate in some way to Kindermusik activities he/she has experienced. You can support this play by joining in with your child. Also, offer opportunities that may relate to these activities, such as create your own simple “cake-baking chant” or “sweeping song.”

It is important to not force “music time” upon your child but to let music be a part of everyday activities. Sing All Around the Kitchen as your child helps you prepare a meal, chant Knives and Forks as you set the table, encourage active listening as you set the oven timer. All of these activities (and more!) will support your child’s early learning experiences.
