W&G/Week 11

Dear Our Time Parent:

Bonding with your child is a personal and individual experience. Each one of my students and their caretakers experience their own unique bond, exhibited in class in a myriad of ways. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to observe the care and love shown as you each snuggle with, play with, whisper to, and laugh with your own special little one as she cuddles in your lap during “Golden Ring” or hugs you tightly in “Love Somebody.”

While attachment to her caregiver is still a natural need for the toddler, this is also the time for development of self-recognition and independence! So, the next few weeks we will focus upon the toddler’s need to separate from her caretaker and then return for reassurance. Enjoy these ever-changing needs of your toddler as part of her natural growth!
