Young Child/Semester 1/Week 4/Lesson 4

Dear Young Child 1 Parent:

Today’s class was very exciting in that the children began actually reading music notation. Through our work with hearing and playing a steady beat, they are beginning to understand this most fundamental property of music. Now they can recognize it visually.

Be sure to read Music at Home 4 for directions on how to play the “Beat Game for Two.” This game will help solidify the learning that is taking place in class. Also, bring the beat cards back to class next week!
